If you could make ONE instant and universal change in all human behavior, what would it be?

DB:

To invoke a true sense of community around the globe.

JF:

Redesign of the cultural and physical environment to a resource-based economy http://www.thevenusproject.com/resource_eco.htm where goods and services are available to all without the use of money. Resources are seen as the common heritage of all Earth’s people. The aim is the well-being of all people and protection of the environment, with intelligent management of resources to eliminate scarcity. This in turn would change human behavior.

A:

Everybody to be nice. World Peace.

SG:

Compassion. I know it sounds sissy :)... You would think with all the video, as mentioned in my answer to question #1, we might learn compassion for other's situations. Many don't have a concept of or don't care enough to change their behavior when hurting others.

AU:

Tolerance of one another’s religions & beliefs and understanding that EVERYONE is on a journey.

SS:

I’d eliminate avarice. America is driven by its insatiable desire for wealth and its trappings. We are a hyper-consuming nation. We have inexorably coupled happiness with material and are enslaved by our respective quests for a status symbol that is supposed to complete our being. The quest blinds us and we are not cognizant of the costs to ourselves and others, and what or who is compelling us to obtain the bauble of the present.

NS:

In my novel, Everfree, I write about a genetic “patch” that floods people with positive mood altering chemicals when they look out for their fellow man. If I had such a technology at my disposal today, I’d certainly be tempted to use it, ethical dilemmas aside.

MG:

I think the ability for people to diminish their anger or their rage, their frustration with themselves. You don’t want to totally take away a person’s opportunity for spiritual growth by taking it all away from them so they can’t go through their own karma, their own path, but if you could lighten it up a little bit. People sometimes tend to have a lot of repressed anger. So it would be that and selfishness and greed. They are all the same thing really. Kind of like just putting a little bit of a lid on the ego or their more animal instinctual qualities rather than their spiritual side.
